Title: The Giver

Author: Lois Lowry

Genre: Fiction

Jonas, A twelve year old boy, lives in a perfect world. At the ceremony of twelve Jonas is given his job as the receiver, which means he has to receive memories of the past from The Giver. When he starts his training he finds out secrets of his community and also that his community isn’t perfect. He and the giver then came up with a plan for change, but they have to find elsewhere first.

Since Jonas and the giver were the only ones that have feelings they wanted to change the community. My opinion is that Jonas is right because when you have no feelings you are nothing. The message I think the author was trying to get across is that you see  you want something that can make everything better you should do what’s best for everybody.

The book the giver I think was really amusing. The reason I liked this book was because I liked how Jonas wanted change and didn’t give up. Also Including he followed everything he was supposed to do. When Jonas was on his way to find else where so he could make the change in his community I liked how he didn’t give up even when he was tired and had numb legs. If someone who likes confusing but interesting book I would recommend this for them.
